IREB Exams

IREB, the International Requirements Engineering Board, is a non-profit organization. It was set up in 2006 with the goal to create and share an internationally accepted training scheme for Requirements Engineering based on professional principles. Since its launch, more than 39,000 professionals from 75 countries have passed the CPRE Foundation Level exam.

In Hungary, HTB is the official examination partner of IREB. We provide the opportunity to obtain both foundational and advanced level certifications. We primarily recommend these certifications for testers, business analysts and developers.

IREB CPRE Foundation Level Exam
  • Exam Calendar
  • Conditions for applying for the exam: no required conditions.
  • Time available for the exam: 75 minutes for native speakers + 15 minutes for non-native speakers
  • The maximum score on the exam is 45. You must achieve 70% (minimum 32 points) for a successful exam.
  • Help during the exam: A printed foreign language dictionary is allowed.

IREB CPRE REQUIREMENTS ELICITATION ADVANCED LEVEL EXAM

  • Conditions for applying for the exam:
    Successful Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering - Foundation Level, IREB exam and its certification for HTB
    OR Successful Requirements Engineering of the British Computer Society (BCS) exam and its certification for HTB.
  • The exam consists of 2 parts:
    Part 1: written examination
    Part 2: written study
  • A successful written examination is a prerequisite of completing the written study.
  • To receive the certification, both parts must be successfully completed with a maximum of 12 months between the first written exam and the submission of the written study.
  • The written examination is considered successful if the candidate reaches at least 70% of the maximum score available.
  • The written study is considered successful if the candidate reaches at least 60% of the maximum score available.
  • Time available for the written exam: 75 minutes for native speakers, with +15 minutes for non-native speakers.
  • The written study can be completed in about 2 business days.

  • The exam consists of 22 multiple choice questions. The amound of maximum available point depends on the questions selected for the exam. For a successfull exam you must achieve 70% or more.
  • Help during the exam: A printed foreign language dictionary is allowed.
